With arrival of 2010 the hot topic in this world today is 2012.... Well, my post is not regarding 2012 for world, but yeah, for Sikhism it is end for sure if we didnt get up nw even...
Sikhism, not a religion, but a way of life, a pathway of spirituality to attain salvation. Gur Barr Akaal _/\_ :)
Nothing personal in this post for anyone, this post of mine is truly based on general observations i have in past few years. This post is sort of a general observation of me in categorizing Sikh population based on the part of it i hav came across, assuming myself NOT WORTH at all.... This is just as per my observation so it may contradict to actual status or so, Excuse me for tht... Waheguru Jee!
Talking bout India only we knw Sikhs in India are just 2% of total population, so we can imagine very well the number...
Leaving aside the babas, priests n profesionals n NRI/foreigner sikhs aside if we consider common people contributing 100% of sikh population, out of which almost 40% are nw patits, the ppl frm sikh families r no more sikhs i.e. they cut hair or beard etc...n they hav no values of sikhism, likewise they even dont knw basics of sikhism, though its just fault of thr parents who didnt teach them at all. Anyways, lets say another 10% are of thots "Sikhi te dil ch hundi hai ji, ki karna kes rakh k ya paath kar k..." though they knw basics atleast.... Fine!!
Now ignoring above ppl, assuming remaining 50% to be important, with tag of being Amritdhaari, baptized, the blessed ones.. :)
I myself hav seen ppl partaking Amrit just to get social status, or can say show off types...so i can say it to be 10%, they dont bother bout anything else.
Moving forward another 5% do have values n they respect them but cudnt follow them as they dont mind going off track occasionally... for example; consuming alcohol occasionally, likewise i got to knw bout this frm one of my frnd last evening, though i myself hav seen a renouned raagi singh sitting in hotel Leela,Mumbai few years back with his family consuming CHAMPAIGN (sorry if i didnt spell it correct), i was so shocked to see tht scene, but i thot he is professional but my frnds statement last day shooked me off... Akaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllll
Then another 5% do hav values n they even dont anything wrong but they go stereo types, likewise they dont go to depth of any concept, they dont go for reasoning, they just follow code of conduct as it is, but they dont knw its meaning n importance.
Rest 30% are true at values n code of conduct.
BUT in among these 30% there r almost 15% who call themselves to be different frm all, so on such platforms they start discriminations in many forms which is against humanity, where sikhism means humanity n equality of all.. in itself.
May be 10% or so get involved with non sikhs in terms of relation, love, n marriages etc. so sooner or later they lose thr identity in terms of values for one reason or another and they left with no option other than compromise on such grounds. The irony is i came across majority of sikh Kaur girls getting into hindu guys making excuse tht she didnt get any gursikh guy for tht....lol... :p as if thr is no gursikh guy left on this whole earth.... Wahgeuru!! Satt bachan .. :D
Height of cheating one ownself.. Pheww! :p The starnge thing is such ppl knw tht they r doing wrong in thr concious still they love to carry it on... dnt knw what does tht meeeaaaaannnnnn!! :-/
Then left are just 5%...who we can call as true ones who are more spiritual than being religious, better to call them true humans, which is the important thing than matters being a Sikh but WHERE ARE THEY?
Infact i guess sooner or later they too get frustrated finding themselves all alone on this path coz of IDENTITY CRISIS.. Waheguru!
Where is our Sikhism heading to? Bigger question is whr i shud move to?? Though i m worst of the worsts.... May be i m sounding like an emotional loser but i guess i m thinking a bit practically, as i m not sure bout world but if this continues to be like this then this spirits will surely end by 2012....
I m just a learner, a beginner trying to explore concepts frm its roots. No other intention of this post. I m extremely sorry if anybdy got hurted with my this post but no such intentions. Need wishes of u all to be in high spirits.
Sri Akaal Jee Sahaye!! :)
